January 11, 2020 Love is Love is Love Ah, au sujet d’amour. This is something I have written on before, but not in the most positive of lights. I’ve said a lot about traveling being more important than dating. I’ve alluded to love in other posts of mine, fictionalized la romance, but other than that, if you haven’t noticed, I have steered clear of the subject. Love never used to sit well with me. Used to, being the key word here.
January 4, 2020 20/20 Vision Happy (late) Holidays and Happy New Year, everyone! In the spirit of the New Year, I felt it was time to be raw and share what’s been happening lately with you guys. There’s so much to share, and much to reflect on, so hold onto your hats.
December 28, 2019 Amidst the Rubble “Gen!” I spun around at the sound of Thomas’ voice, immediately crushed by his arms around me. It felt nice to relax in his arms. He held me close, leaning into my ear. “I thought you were in there.”
December 21, 2019 Ballads and Boys “Abbie, are you coming or not?” I peeked my head out of my bedroom, peering down the hallway. Izzy, my roommate, stood next to the door with her arms crossed, clutching her cell phone tightly in one hand and her dorm keys in the other. Checking my watch, I widened my eyes.
December 14, 2019 In Over My Head If my mother knew where I was at this very instant, she would have me by the ear, dragging me back into our little apartment complex. But she was at work. Adam and I had parted ways, and I hurried back to the pier, as if I didn’t know any better. Except I did.
December 7, 2019 East of Eden Of all the places along the coast, the bridge to Stuart has always been my favorite drive. I used to press my face up to the glass as a young child, watch the boats coming into the harbor, and the families lined up at the docks ready to head out to the ocean for the day.
November 30, 2019 Sparks Fly Coming up the front steps after my parents, Sam and Luke were both tugging away at a black Guns N Roses t-shirt. Both of their eyes shone gold, brighter than the lights above them. They both turned to us, dropping the t-shirt to the ground. Mom glared at them and crossed their arms.
November 23, 2019 Growing Pains As it comes to the end of yet another exciting, transformative year, I find myself reflecting. Sometimes, I cringe thinking of some of the things that I did or said this year (don’t we all have some of those moments?), and other times, I find myself smiling with pride, thinking “yeah, I totally got through that”. Truthfully, I love New Years.
November 16, 2019 Cleaning House “Ready?” I nodded over to Thomas, who held his wand tightly in his hand. His dark eyes shifted to the rattling door. I gulped. “On three.” “One,” we both paused, hearing more intense rattling, “two…three.” SLAM! One flick of our wrists and the lock turned. The door burst open, slamming open against the wall. Pages upon pages flew out of the attic, causing both of us to hold our hands up. Books toppled to the hallway floor from the stairs, reaching our toes and growing into a large pile.
November 9, 2019 Summer Shenanigans Riiiiiing. Riiiiiiing. Riiiiii– “Hullo?” I moaned as I sat up, pressing my phone to my ear before I even opened my eyes. Without having to check, I knew who it was. Glancing at the time, I groaned again. It was only seven in the morning. Why, Cecile?
